February 2020 Financials

Church,

Please see below our February 2020 financial update. Although the update is a little late this month, we wanted to shift the focus of the update a bit to provide some information on COVID-19.

1) February 2020 Financials

Revenue for the month of February was $6,286 (-$1,512 YoY*), which was just over our average projection.

* YoY stands for “Year-over-Year”, which is used to compare how we did this month with last year. In this case, for example, we had $1,512 less revenue in February 2020 than we did in February 2019.

2) Mission Fund

During the month of February, we had one Mission Fund expense, which was $3,000 for Person A, who was recently diagnosed with cancer and needed help paying for expensive treatment and medical bills. Along with this check, our Missional Community is investing their time and talents with this family to walk alongside them during this difficult time.

At the end of February, we increased the Mission Fund by $3,143 (50% of our February revenue)!

3) COVID-19 Update

As Pastor Eric mentioned in his email last week, we are closely monitoring the information being released by the CDC regarding COVID-19. We are aware that this is a stressful and uncertain time for many of us, especially those whose regular income is affected by the recent closure of schools, restaurants and other businesses. In light of this, we wanted to communicate a few things with everyone:

  • If you are in need of assistance, whether it be financial, emotional, spiritual or anything else, please do not hesitate to reach out to us, Pastor Eric or any of our Missional Community Leaders. Whether you need a roll of toilet paper or help buying groceries, we are here to serve our neighborhood together.

  • If your income has been impacted by the current events, please ensure that your auto-tithe setting on our donation platform is adjusted. Although we would love everyone to continue tithing to Neighborhood Church, we understand if these adjustments need to be made and encourage you to do so if necessary. Link to the donation page HERE.

  • Despite our anticipated changes in revenue for the coming months, we have committed to continue paying rent to Lincoln’s Beard and the full salaries of our two employees (Pastor Eric and our Children’s Director, Monica) through the end of April. As our circumstances change, we will recalculate and decide how to best move forward. However, our priority is to continue supporting those who rely on us for income and provide as much stability as possible.

While we want to encourage practicing healthy social distancing, we also want to continue to stay connected with each other and our God through the means we still have available. Please consider how we might love and serve both God and our neighbors during this time in wise and creative ways. And again, if you need anything, please reach out.

Take care,

The Finance Team
