1) June 2019 Financials
As the summer begins and the school semester ends, most churches suffer a temporary decrease in their revenues – we are no exception. For the month of June, our revenue was less than what we projected. However, this did not come as a surprise, which is why we focused on building our reserves and planning ahead for the months where we would not reach our desired numbers. As a result, our Finance Team met with Pastor Eric and we discussed temporary cuts to discretionary spending in order to keep in line with our lower revenue. While this was a new experience for us, it was a great exercise that refocused us on our priorities.
Our monthly fixed expenses are about $2,500. Although our available revenue (after removing 50% for our Mission Fund) is below this number, we will make small adjustments in the next month to our variable expenses in order to reconcile. Should this trend continue, we will make the necessary adjustments to our projections and budget.

Revenue: $4,075 (projected $6,000)
Average donation: $185 (-68 from last month)

2) Mission Fund
At the beginning of June, we had a balance of $6,232 in our mission fund. Of this total, we have committed $6,000:
We have committed $5,000 to Person A to assist them during a difficult time in their life, the least of which includes a significant loss of income. Our Missional Community is walking alongside this family as they navigate a very strenuous situation.
We have committed $1,000 to Person B, who also suffered a loss of income during a challenging time.
Despite our lower revenues for the month, we have not made any cuts to our Mission Fund. Therefore, our Mission Fund continues to increase by 50% of our monthly income, which brings our total for the month of July to about $2,270.
